So I know exactly what it takes to get the right sort of media attention that will boost you, your business and your brand and I know this because I worked there myself. Not many people can lay claim to working across broadsheets, mid-market, tabloids, agencies and the black press.
I also have senior commercial expertise gained through working as an Editor at the world’s leading branded content agency John Brown Media whose clients included TSB, RBS, NatWest, Waitrose and John Lewis & Partners.
Authenticity is important to me and I pride myself on having integrity. I am trusted, connected, have a strong reputation within the media and am known for keeping calm in any crisis.
As a black woman of Ghanaian heritage I’m passionate about challenging and changing the narrative about Africa and what it means to be an African.
Finally, running a successful PR company is more than just business – it’s personal. At ESPR you’ll get the same results and service as you would at a big agency, but we will never treat you as just another cog in the wheel. We value all of our client partners equally and we go the extra mile for each and every one of them.
As black woman in the media I know it can be a tough industry to navigate, I have often been and sometimes continue to be, the only black person in the room. I want to be part of that change and I feel I can do that by standing as an example of what can be achieved with drive and determination.
ESPR is proud to work with such a diverse range of clients partners. Here are some coverage highlights.

As well as founding ESPR, I also have extensive other media interests. I am a weekly columnist for the Daily Mirror, the host of the Founders’ Series Webinars and editor of The Powerlist, the annual list of the most influential black people in Britain sponsored by J.P Morgan, PwC, Linklaters and Facebook. I also review the newspapers on the BBC, Sky News and Times Radio.
“Eva is a PR who instinctively knows what journalists want which is why she is always able to deliver for her clients. She is thorough, professional and always goes beyond. Her work speaks for itself and I have no hesitation in recommending her services”.
“Eva Simpson is a highly talented, and respected editorial consultant. She has excellent contacts and instinctively knows what clients and the media want.”
“ESPR led the press campaign for the launch of my exhibition Phenomenal Women: portraits of UK Black female professors. From the very beginning, I was struck by her ability to effortlessly translate my aims and vision into a streamlined, highly effective press strategy that would reach local and mainstream media. Quietly authoritative and calm under pressure, Eva managed the inevitable hiccups that occur with a project focused on race with clear judgement, alacrity and grace; I felt that both I and the project were always her central focus. I very much enjoyed working with Eva and, without hesitation, would work with her again.”
“ESPR has been an effective partner and trusted guide for our firm. The team devised a strategy for getting our message out into the world leveraging all media and social channels. The strategy was executed so effectively that both designed outcomes, as well as unexpected opportunities, have been produced. This has been the most effective PR and comms relationship I have ever experienced.”
“We had the great pleasure of working with ESPR on the 2020 MOBO press launch – a fine and solid execution and would happily recommend her.”
